About Us :
Katherine Town Council is the Municipal Council for Katherine, NT.
Our team provides services to the Katherine Community relating to rates, roads, infrastructure, animal control, waste management and other core essential services.
We are a critical crossroads point for Northern Australia and the top end, connecting Perth to Darwin from the west and Adelaide to Darwin through the north/south highway and rail corridor.
Around 8,000 people live in the Katherine municipality. The local RAAF Airbase at the Katherine suburb of Tindal adds around 2,000 to this figure making it over 10,000 people living and working in Katherine.

We are seeking an experienced Information Services Coordinator who is passionate about providing high quality customer service to join our team.
The successful candidate will provide consistent, high quality customer service in all aspects of the Katherine Public Library's services.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Providing high quality customer service to Library patrons;
- Operating relevant software systems;
- Maintaining order of the Library collection;
- Receiving and balancing financial transactions as required and in accordance with Council procedures;
- Participating in the delivery of programs and services with particular emphasis on community engagement;
- Engaging with visitors to the library and providing customer service and support to a variety of library services relating to library loans, computer, information services or other matters that assist patrons.
Key Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to meet the positions key responsibilities;
- Ability to understand various legislations, Council By-Laws, statutory obligation and Council policies;
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to a wide variety of client groups;
- Sound keyboard skills;
- Good literacy and numeracy skills;
- Ability to work cooperatively as a team as well as unsupervised;
- Basic knowledge of the principles of customer service;
- Basic knowledge of various software platforms.
This is a casual role with flexibility and a community facing role.
Salary:$70,000 per annum based on full-time hours (pro-rata part-time rate to be negotiated).
