Are you a skilled nursing professional looking to take your career to the next level? We are seeking a highly experienced Clinical Nurse Consultant to lead our efforts in reprocessing reusable medical devices.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced clinical leadership and expertise in Reprocessing of Reusable Medical Devices across our health service. This includes maintaining compliance to AS5369 Standard across all departments, including Central Sterilising Departments, endoscopy services, oral health services, cardiac investigations, maternity services, and other areas using and reprocessing reusable medical devices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced clinical leadership and expertise in Reprocessing of Reusable Medical Devices
  • Maintain compliance to AS5369 Standard across the health service, ensuring all staff adhere to relevant standards and guidelines
  • Work closely with staff to develop and implement infection control practices
Requirements
  • Current nursing registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Certificate III in Sterilisation from an approved training organisation based on nationally accredited competencies or equivalent
  • Gastroenterological Nurses College of Australasia (GENCA) endoscopy reprocessing training or willingness to undertake and complete the requirements upon commencement
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment from an approved training organisation based on nationally accredited competencies or equivalent
  • Extensive experience working in an Infection Prevention and Control senior nursing role
  • Relevant postgraduate qualification in Infection Prevention and Control
  • Credentialed status or willingness to undertake and complete the requirements with the Australasian College for Infection Prevention and Control
