Global Commodity Specialist

The position of Junior Trader plays a vital role in the cotton trading team. Key responsibilities include supporting Senior Traders with daily market activities, trade execution, and data entry.
Motivated candidates should be able to monitor and report grower sentiment, pricing trends, and market developments. Assist in understanding container and bulk export pathways, freight rates, and arbitrage opportunities.
Accurate records must be maintained, including trade entries and daily profit and loss tracking. Liaise with supply chain stakeholders to optimize export options.
Participate in team and global market meetings. To succeed in this role, strong analytical and problem-solving ability is required, along with clear written and verbal communication skills.
Key requirements include a tertiary degree in Economics, Finance, Science, Agricultural Economics, or related discipline. Additionally, knowledge or experience in commodity trading, export logistics, or market analysis is desirable.
Strong numerical and analytical capability with attention to detail is essential, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Power BI. Strong IT skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly are also necessary.
Beyond technical skills, basic knowledge of statistics with a keen interest in developing analytical skills is highly valued.
