The Role of a Medical Scientist is to provide accurate and timely pathology results in the laboratory setting. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication with healthcare professionals.

About the Position:
  • Performing diagnostic tests using automated and manual methods
  • Haematology including Coagulation and blood film morphology
  • Biochemistry including immunoassay
  • Blood Banking
Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in a 24-hour rotating roster, including public holidays
  • Maintain high standards of quality control and adhere to regulatory guidelines
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Science) or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in a diagnostic laboratory, preferably in Chemistry, Haematology and Blood bank departments
  • Demonstrated expertise in Laboratory Information Systems, such as Ultra
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex information to colleagues
  • A willingness to participate in after-hours and on-call rosters
