We are looking for Aboriginal Community Wellbeing Workers to join our SEWB team at Central Australian Aboriginal Congress.

About the Role

The role provides a range of services, including outreach to clients, planned transports, service brokerage, cultural input to service delivery, client support for healthcare follow-ups, healthcare advocacy, client follow ups for missed appointments, and short-term case management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver holistic primary healthcare services to Aboriginal community members.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community members, organisations, and stakeholders.
  • Conduct outreach activities to promote access to healthcare services.
  • Provide education and training on healthy lifestyle practices and disease prevention.
  • Work collaboratively with other health professionals to provide comprehensive care.

The successful candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with Aboriginal community members and stakeholders. They will also possess a high level of cultural awareness and understanding, with the ability to provide culturally sensitive care.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A relevant qualification in a field such as alcohol and other drugs, community services, or mental health.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, particularly with Aboriginal community members.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • A high level of cultural awareness and understanding, with the ability to provide culturally sensitive care.

In return, we offer a competitive salary package, including a base salary of $66,963 - $72,559 per annum, plus district allowance, superannuation, leave loading, and estimated tax saving from salary packaging options.
