Operational Risk Management Executive

Mission Statement: Contribute to effective operational risk management.

We are seeking an experienced business unit risk manager to support the Oceania Operations division in managing operational risk/resilience.

The role entails owning the implementation of the Operations division's risk strategy and driving effective management and governance by supporting risk management activities including:

  • Supporting all operational risk management activities in the business line.
  • Driving implementation and changes to any operational risk/resilience requirements to ensure robust management.
  • Collaborating with the team to ensure that the control environment is effective and aligned with the stated risk appetite.
  • Cultivating a risk-aware culture in the business line.
  • Establishing productive relationships with the frontline business and other functions across the bank to address risk issues and optimize Operations processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulations, and maintaining accurate regulatory reporting.

Influencing senior-level decision-making, ensuring risk considerations are integrated into medium-term business planning and strategic initiatives.

Key Requirements
  • At least 10 years' experience in financial services within risk management.
  • Expertise in Operations processes, including payments and transactions.
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling collaboration with diverse teams and building strong relationships.
  • Ability to influence decision-making, challenge processes, and decisions, and establish best practices.
  • High motivation and willingness to engage proactively.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
