About the Role:

The Director, Communications and Public Affairs will lead the development and implementation of national education and communication strategies to support improvements in work health and safety outcomes and workers' compensation arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business areas and the Executive to plan, execute, and achieve internal and external communication objectives.
  • Lead a team to develop and present innovative communication materials, including graphic materials, publications, and social media content.
  • Provide strategic media advice to the Executive and understand media-related issues.
  • Manage continuous improvement and work to maximize the effectiveness of education and communication strategies by evaluating their strategic value and outcomes.
  • Support the Communications Reference Group and develop and maintain positive stakeholder relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead and set the strategic direction and work practices for a small team of multidisciplinary skilled communication professionals.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Agency and APS processes and relevant policy priorities impacting the Agency.
