
Child Welfare Specialist

This role involves working collaboratively with communities, agencies and individuals to improve outcomes for vulnerable children and families.
You will work sensitively and respectfully with parents, family members, children or young people to address safety and wellbeing concerns, develop safety plans and complete risk assessments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working with families to set goals and address safety and wellbeing concerns
- Developing safety plans and completing risk assessments
- Participating in court processes and preparing court documents
- Engaging in individual and group supervision sessions
- Collaborating with other agencies to solve complex problems
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Confidence, curiosity and resilience
- Relevant diploma or degree (or two years experience working with vulnerable children)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver's license and Working with Children clearance number
- Documented verification of Aboriginality
