Agricultural Business Development Manager

- Demonstrated sales experience within the agricultural industry, including an understanding of the reseller network and partnering across the supply chain to end-users.
- Experience working within a similar territory, and an appreciation of the dairy sector and relevant agronomic issues.
- Sound commercial acumen with well-developed and proven sales skills.
- Active networker with excellent relationship skills.
- A positive and proactive team player.
- Highly developed presentation skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in agriculture preferred, although candidates with proven industry experience will be highly regarded.
- Well-developed and effective communicator.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Salesforce (or similar CRM package).
Gentech Seeds is offering a competitive salary between $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on your level of experience. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of an exciting growth plan within the dairy industry.
The Company: As a leader in the Australian seed market for over 40 years, Pioneer Seeds aims to improve growers' operations and advance the science of agriculture in Australia. We achieve this by delivering high-quality seed genetics to farmers and sharing our knowledge and passion for field agronomy through our dedicated people.
The Position: Gentech Seeds is looking to recruit two new Territory Sales Managers to develop increased awareness, knowledge and understanding with resellers, influencers and dairy farmers of how maize, forage sorghum and silage inoculants fit into profitable dairy farm systems. You will focus on:
- Actively promoting, recommending and selling all Pioneer products.
- Assisting with connecting to a key farmer network and ensuring all customer activity is correctly tracked.
- Working with resellers across your territory to develop, monitor and implement business plans and forecasting reports.
- Working closely with the Dairy Specialists in the region to ensure aligned activity within the region and connect across the broader stakeholder relationships within Gen Tech Seeds.
- Representing the business and brand at relevant industry functions and field days.
This role requires someone who has experience working within the dairy sector and has a strong understanding of the reseller network and partnering across the supply chain to end-users. You should also have sound commercial acumen with well-developed and proven sales skills, as well as being an active networker with excellent relationship skills.
