About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Assistant to join our Accounting team in Melbourne, reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process accounts payable functions for the Australian offices within the firm's invoice processing system.
  • Manage daily contact with suppliers and firm personnel regarding the status of supplier invoices, setting up new suppliers, processing payments, and ad hoc reporting.
  • Ensure all office and matter invoices are approved, coded, and loaded into the General Ledger.
  • Prepare and process electronic transfers and payment runs, including emailing remittance advices.
  • Reconcile corporate credit card transactions and ensure timely payment of credit card statements.
  • Support the Finance Manager with day-to-day tasks and accounting-related projects.
Requirements
  • Practical, resilient, and proactive approach.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
  • Prior experience working in accounts payable at a law firm or similar industry.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
