Spiritual Care Provider for Defence Personnel

At The Salvation Army, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Spiritual Care Provider to join our team in Palmerston, NT.
The successful candidate will work with Defence personnel, providing holistic support and spiritual care in a permanent full-time role.

About the Role
We are looking for an individual with a strong background in chaplaincy or theological studies, who can provide spiritual guidance and support to Defence personnel.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Providing one-on-one pastoral conversations to encourage people to explore their spirituality and personal faith journey.
- Collaborating with local corps and mission expression personnel to create faith pathways and connect Defence personnel with local communities.
- Responding to critical incidents and providing debriefing services as required.
- Conducting and facilitating Christian ceremonies and services according to The Salvation Army's rites.
- Assisting Defence personnel in understanding The Salvation Army's theology, mission, and culture.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma of Chaplaincy or Foundations course (mandatory).
- Relevant qualifications in theological studies (preferred).
- Positive Lifestyle Program Facilitator training (mandatory).
- Mental Health First Aid (mandatory).
- Meets yearly credentialing requirements for Territorial Chaplaincy Support Unit (TCSU) registration.
- Regular attendance at a Christian place of worship.
- Working With Children Check.
