As a Spiritual Care Specialist - Defence Services, you will be part of a team that uses professional skills and expertise to make a real difference in the lives of people who need help most.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and spiritually gifted individual to work as a Spiritual Care Specialist - Defence Services. The successful candidate will provide holistic support to veterans and their families, working in partnership with other professionals to address their spiritual, pastoral, and welfare needs.
About the Role
This permanent full-time position is located in Palmerston, NT, and involves providing spiritual and pastoral care to Defence personnel. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing one-on-one pastoral or spiritual conversations to encourage people to explore their spirituality and move forward in their personal faith journey.
- Collaborating with local corps and mission expression personnel, and Defence chaplains, to create faith pathways for Defence personnel.
- Providing a pastoral response, in conjunction with specialist formal debriefing, to those impacted by critical incidents.
- Conducting and facilitating Christian ceremonies and services as required according to the rites of The Salvation Army.
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- A Diploma of Chaplaincy or Foundations course (mandatory).
- Relevant qualifications in theological studies (preferred).
- Positive Lifestyle Program (PLP) Facilitator training (mandatory).
- Mental Health First Aid (mandatory).
- Regular attendance at a Christian place of worship.
- Working With Children Check.
