Job Opportunity: Lead Security Vetting Specialist Job Description

The role of Lead Security Vetting Specialist is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a high level of initiative and judgement.

As a key member of the Security Clearances and Investigations team, you will be responsible for processing security clearances in accordance with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and DFAT Security Framework, using DFAT's electronic case management system.

You will provide high-quality advice regarding clearance outcomes, including the ability to review and prepare security clearance denial documentation to a high standard.

The ideal candidate will possess a background in Australian Government security vetting, including relevant qualifications and experience. However, applicants with experience in security threat or risk assessment, or security policy will also be considered.

The role requires a sound understanding of the role and responsibilities of DFAT, as well as the ability to adhere to APS and departmental values.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate a high level of professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm for innovative approaches to vetting challenges.

Required Skills and Qualifications
