As a key member of our security team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of personnel within our organization. Your expertise in personnel security vetting will be essential to delivering exceptional results and contributing to the protection of Australia's national interests.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your skills and experience in personnel security vetting, working within the Australian Government's Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and adhering to departmental standard operating procedures. You will operate with discretion, providing sound recommendations on complex cases and preparing high-quality documentation.

You will work closely with stakeholders across various departments and agencies, managing delivery of clearance processes and adapting to modern approaches to vetting challenges. Your strong understanding of the APS and departmental values will enable you to demonstrate initiative, excellent judgment, and a client-focused approach.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing delivery of clearance processes and collaborating with stakeholders across departments and agencies.
  • Processing security clearances in accordance with PSPF and departmental standard operating procedures using electronic case management systems.
  • Providing sound recommendations on complex cases, including preparing high-quality denial documentation.
  • Collaborating with senior security personnel to deliver personnel security outcomes.
Requirements
  • Certificate IV in Government Security (Personnel Vetting) or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in Australian Government security vetting is highly desirable.
  • Strong coordination and interpersonal skills, with a focus on delivering results.
  • Demonstrated capacity to adhere to APS and departmental values.
