Job Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced leader to shape our personnel security function, which is critical to our organization's success.

This role will operate fully remotely and will not have direct staff management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • To develop and maintain personnel security frameworks aligned with government regulations.
  • To integrate security into enterprise onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • To oversee risk management processes for international travel and secondments.
  • To create, manage, and improve security policies, awareness, and reporting.
  • To collaborate with stakeholders across various functions.

About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to lead and shape the personnel security function for a federal government agency in Australia. You will be responsible for driving improvements across onboarding and offboarding, managing governance activities such as international travel and secondments, and maintaining accurate records and executive reporting.

Requirements

  • A highly experienced personnel security specialist (5+ years) with in-depth knowledge of government regulations and security protocols.
  • Strong policy development and risk governance capability.
  • Ability to work independently in a hands-on, high-trust role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
