Governance Director

The Personnel Security Governance Director role requires a senior leader to oversee and shape the personnel security function for a federal government agency in Australia.
Main Responsibilities:- Lead and maintain comprehensive security frameworks aligned with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
- Incorporate security into onboarding and offboarding processes across the organization.
- Oversee risk management processes for international travel and secondments, ensuring compliance with PSPF guidelines.
- Develop, manage, and continuously improve security policies, awareness initiatives, and reporting mechanisms.
- Collaborate with stakeholders from various departments, including ICT, Risk Management, Governance, HR, and executive functions.
- Provide operational support to the security team during peak periods as needed.
- A highly experienced personnel security specialist with a minimum of 5 years' experience and in-depth knowledge of PSPF and government security protocols.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing PSPF-aligned personnel security functions.
- Strong policy development and risk governance capabilities.
- Ability to work independently in a high-trust environment with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
This position requires Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain a NV1 clearance.
