As a Blast and Paint Coordinator, you will play a vital role in delivering a key phase of work during the Shipbuilding lifecycle.

About the Role

This opportunity involves coordinating and leading a cross-functional team to ensure safety, quality, cost, and schedule for Ship construction meet program goals and deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the coordinator with coordinating and delivering a key phase of work during the Shipbuilding lifecycle
  • Establish strong relationships and working collaboratively with stakeholders
  • Champion Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) performance and ensure compliance with the SHE Management System, mitigating SHE-related risks
  • Accept responsibility for and demonstrate a visible commitment to Quality, leading by example and setting high personal standards
  • Organise activities and tasks for specific projects, ensuring all activities associated with the manufacture, production, and assembly/installation of components are completed in accordance with safety, design, quality, and customer requirements
  • Coordinate and de-conflict production activities in accordance with the Ship Plan of Day (SPOD)
  • Facilitate production issue resolution to ensure that hold-ups to schedule are minimised
  • Support managers with reporting obligations
Requirements
  • AMPP Certified Coatings Inspector (NACE CIP Level 2 and SSPC PCI Level 2)
  • Previous experience in a heavy engineering environment
  • Well-developed self-management skills and demonstrated ability to work under own initiative to deliver outputs safely, to schedule, quality, and cost
  • Ability to use and adapt written and verbal communication skills to suit different audiences
  • Exposure to balancing conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder management
  • Ability to build and maintain effectively relationships with colleagues to implement business requirements
