About John Holland

We're a leading infrastructure and property development company, dedicated to transforming lives by delivering complex projects across various industries. Our focus is on finding innovative solutions to challenges, making communities easier to move around, more connected, and better to live in.

About The Project

We're delivering the Kidston Pumped Storage Hydro Project, a pioneering initiative that involves converting a disused gold mine into a pumped storage hydroelectric power generation facility in Queensland. This project will see the conversion of two existing mine pits into reservoirs, involving the construction of significant underground infrastructure, including a large powerhouse cavern and waterway shafts and tunnels.

About The Role

We're seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our construction delivery team, initially based in Kidston QLD. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for managing on-site engineering functions, obtaining design parameter information, monitoring quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, and coordinating the activities of an engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage on-site engineering functions through subordinates, including Project Engineers and/or Cost/Planning Engineers.
  2. Obtain relevant design parameter information for incorporation into detailed designs and construction specifications.
  3. Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, check work drawings, construction and specifications against site plans and conditions, and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary.
  4. Coordinate the activities of an engineering team, program workloads, and provide technical and administrative guidance to the engineering staff to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved.
  5. Ensure that project engineering completion is on time and within budget.
  6. Record completed work, costs incurred, materials used, and retain progress drawings.

Requirements

Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering are essential. You'll need experience in delivering projects from beginning to completion, as well as experience in delivering complex infrastructure, including electrical-based commercial works. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also required.

What We Offer

We offer competitive remuneration, salary continuance, and salary sacrifice packaging options. You'll also enjoy great leave benefits, including 18 weeks paid parental leave with superannuation and up to an extra 18 weeks of superannuation paid on further periods of unpaid parental leave. Our company values diversity and inclusion, and we're committed to creating a workplace that's welcoming and inclusive for all employees.
