The Role
Specialist Ships branch, within Defence Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG), is seeking professional and motivated Project Support Officers to provide ongoing support to the Commonwealth Governments continuous naval shipbuilding projects.
The Project Support Officers are members of a multi-functional team, which provides shared business and project management functions that support a range of critical maritime Projects. The Project Support Officer is accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve moderately complex procedural, operational, business and project support work within an integrated environment. You will interpret and provide advice to our stakeholders within the project management support function based on legislation.
Critical to the success of the branch, these positions require someone who is proactive; has the skills and experience in a project environment; a keen eye in attention to detail; effective communication and writing skills; the ability to multi-task; and deliver against tight deadlines.
We are looking for a collaborator who will be able to understand the needs of our stakeholders and produce outcomes and results according to their requirements. The successful candidate will be provided with the necessary mentoring and training with opportunities for career development and growth.
About our Team
Specialist Ships branch, under the Patrol Boats and Specialist Ships Division, is an exciting and complex environment, offering a rewarding career in one of the most dynamic organisations within NSSG. We work across both Acquisition and delivery of Specialist and Minor war vessels to the Navy. You will enjoy Australian Public Service conditions, which include an attractive salary package and flexible, family-friendly working arrangements.
