Clinical Simulation Nurse Role

The University of Sydney is seeking a skilled Clinical Simulation Nurse to provide high-quality support for simulation and skills training operations.

This role requires an individual who can enhance the student experience, complement learning and clinical practice aspects of the curriculum, and ensure that simulated learning environments are maintained and functioning as required.

The position provides clinical, technical, and administrative support to staff and students within the simulation studios. Key responsibilities include resolving routine problems relating to efficient and effective delivery of clinical education sessions, escalating issues when necessary, and referring complex problems to the Clinical Skills & Simulation Coordinator for guidance and/or resolution.

  • Facilities Support: Assisting and supporting facilities in the Clinical Simulation Studios
  • Technical Support: Providing clinical and technical assistance to academics, students, and other technical staff using the simulation environment
  • Resource Management: Managing resources, including monitoring stock levels of equipment through regular stock-taking and inventory management
  • Coordination and Reporting: Assisting in coordinating reporting and documentation, including WHS, equipment maintenance, and workspace requests for the simulation environment
  • Ad-hoc Projects: Undertaking ad-hoc projects and other activities as required

Essential requirements include previous experience in relevant clinical fields, preferably with experience demonstrating specialist simulation equipment and technology, sound working knowledge and acute awareness of safety regulations and operating procedures within the simulation environment, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

This position requires unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to apply. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.
