Clinical Simulation Nurse Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Clinical Simulation Nurse to join our team. This role is responsible for providing high-quality support for all simulation and skills training operations at the university.

The focus of this role is to enhance the student experience and complement the learning and clinical practice aspects of the curriculum. The successful candidate will work closely with academic staff, students, and other technical staff to ensure the simulated learning environment is maintained and functioning as required.

The primary location of this role will be at Camperdown, Susan Wakil Health Building.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist and support the Clinical Simulation Studios' facilities.
  • Provide clinical and technical support to academics, students, and other technical staff using the clinical simulation environment.
  • Manage resources, including monitoring stock levels of equipment through regular stock-taking and inventory management.
  • Assist the manager in coordinating reporting and documentation, including WHS, equipment maintenance, and workspace requests for the clinical simulation environment.
Requirements
  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in relevant clinical fields, preferably with experience demonstrating specialist simulation equipment and technology.
  • Sound working knowledge and acute awareness of safety regulations and operating procedures within the clinical simulation environment, along with experience implementing safety protocols.
  • Demonstrating strong understanding and up-to-date knowledge of relevant aspects of the Workplace Health and Safety Policy and applicable legislation.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team, showing initiative and exercising sound judgment when resolving issues during day-to-day work.
