About the opportunity

The Clinical Simulation Nurse assists in providing high-quality support for all simulation and skills training operations at FMH Clinical Simulation Education. The focus of this role is to enhance the student experience and complement the learning and clinical practice aspects of the curriculum.

The position is responsible for providing clinical, technical, and administrative support to staff and students within the Clinical Simulation Studios. They will assist the manager to ensure that the simulated learning environment is maintained and functioning as required, and that the relevant Work, Health and Safety (WHS) standards of the work area are met in alignment with the University's WHS policy.

The role resolves routine problems relating to the delivery of efficient and effective clinical education sessions and services in a timely manner, escalating issues to the supervisor when required. Problems that cannot be resolved or are outside the scope of their key accountabilities are referred to the Clinical Skills & Simulation Coordinator for guidance and / or resolution.

The primary location of this role will be at Camperdown, Susan Wakil Health Building.

Your key responsibilities will be

assisting and supporting the Clinical Simulation Studios' facilitiesproviding clinical and technical support to academics, students, and other technical staff using the clinical simulation environmentmanaging resources, including monitoring stock levels of equipment through regular stock-taking and inventory managementassisting the manager in coordinating reporting and documentation, including WHS, equipment maintenance, and workspace requests for the clinical simulation environmentundertaking ad-hoc projects and other activities as required.

About you

previous experience in relevant clinical fields, preferably with experience demonstrating specialist simulation equipment and technologypossessing sound working knowledge and acute awareness of safety regulations and operating procedures within the clinical simulation environment, along with experience implementing safety protocolsdemonstrating strong understanding and up-to-date knowledge of relevant aspects of the Workplace Health and Safety Policy and applicable legislationbeing able to work both independently and as part of a team, showing initiative and exercising sound judgment when resolving issues during day-to-day work.
