About this Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Seafood Procurement Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing high-quality seafood products that meet current market trends and customer tastes.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Analyse market trends and customer preferences for seafood products and adjust purchasing strategies as needed.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to source premium seafood that meets quality and compliance standards.
  • Develop marketing and promotional strategies to enhance the shopping experience, focusing on seasonal seafood varieties.
  • Collaborate with management to plan and forecast seafood inventory needs, ensuring alignment with consumer demand and seasonal availability.
  • Select and purchase premium seafood, conducting thorough inspections to guarantee freshness, quality, and compliance with standards.
  • BUILD strong relationships with industry contacts, suppliers, and customers to stay informed about new seafood varieties and sustainable practices.
  • Manage the seafood inventory efficiently, ensuring a consistent supply of popular and seasonal seafood products while adhering to quality and safety standards.
  • Regularly attend industry events, auctions, and engage with brokers to source unique and high-demand seafood products, keeping ahead of consumer trends.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications and/or at least 2-3 years relevant work experience
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage effectively with customers
  • Knowledge of seafood products and keen insight into retail market trends
  • Leadership skills with a focus on team management and customer satisfaction
