About the Role:
- We are seeking an experienced Family Contact Worker to supervise and support safe family contact for children in care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport and supervise family contact visits autonomously, ensuring the safety and well-being of all parties involved.
- Write clear, detailed reports soon after each visit, highlighting any concerns or issues that may impact the child's safety.
- Support case managers in developing and implementing effective care plans, focusing on the best interests of the child.
- Identify and report any child protection concerns promptly, following established procedures.
- Manage visits when they are not in the child's best interest, prioritizing their safety and well-being above all else.
Requirements:
- A diploma in community services or a related field is preferred but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- A valid driver's license, working with vulnerable children check, first aid certification, and NDIS clearance are mandatory.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including conflict management and resolution.
- The ability to work effectively with diverse families, managing complex situations with sensitivity and professionalism.
- An understanding of child safety and car restraint laws, ensuring compliance at all times.
- A flexible approach to shift work, including evenings and weekends.
