This is an opportunity for a Senior Claims Manager to join our team in Sydney on an 8-month fixed-term contract, with potential for permanency and further growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage member claims and investigations according to Avant protocols and guidelines.
  • Contribute to the provision of claims services by Avant.
  • Support national process improvements and change initiatives positively.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to Claims staff members.
  • Educate members, staff, and external bodies in medico-legal, clinical risk, and claims matters.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in law or Health Studies.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in medical negligence law.
  • Senior claims management experience in a medical indemnity environment would be advantageous.
  • An advanced understanding of medical indemnity law and insurance principles.
  • Strong leadership skills and financial acumen.
