Claims Management Specialist

This role involves strategic oversight and hands-on management for work-related injury notifications, long-duration, and complex workers' compensation claims.

The ideal candidate will provide technical guidance and expert support in managing complex long-term claims with a focus on durable resolutions.

Maintaining collaborative working relationships is essential to support effective outcomes with Claim Service Providers, Medical and Treatment Providers, and Rehabilitation Providers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership and experience in managing legislative compliance to ensure timely notification obligations are met.
  • Guiding recovery, redeployment, and claim resolution outcomes, particularly for claims involving psychosocial, workplace, or medical complexities.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimal claims outcomes.

We seek an experienced professional who has:

  • Demonstrated significant experience managing complex workers' compensation claims within a large organisation or public sector environment.
  • A strong understanding of NSW workers' compensation legislation (including exempt and non-exempt) and evidence-based recovery at work principles.
  • Proven leadership experience supporting and managing a team in a fast-paced and high-volume work environment.
  • Significant experience and understanding of best practice in managing complex psychological injuries and vocational rehabilitation to achieve optimal claims outcomes.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills, with demonstrated ability to build successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
