The Claims Treatment Specialist Pharmacy role will see you utilise your expertise as a community pharmacist to advise on medication, communicate with injured workers and doctors, and collaborate with prescribers to ensure safe and appropriate treatment, especially concerning high risk medications.

You will provide expert advice, optimise medication plans, support recovery in line with regulatory requirements, and educate stakeholders and operational team members on medication-related issues. Given the evolving nature of this position, it requires someone who is flexible, proactive and committed to refining processes for continuous improvement.

This will be a full-time, 12-month contract position based in the Sydney office, with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimise medication and treatment management.
  • Assess high-risk medication use and provide clinical opinions on treatment strategies.
  • Liaise with treatment providers to negotiate medication types, dosages, and utilisation.
  • Educate injured workers, employers, and stakeholders on medication use and risks.
  • Identify the need for and refer to external services like Pharmacy Reviews or Independent Medical Examinations.
  • Provide training and support to operational team members on medication management best practices.

About You

  • A bachelor's degree in Pharmacy is essential for this role
  • Current registration in a professional field
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical practice
  • Well established knowledge of disability and injury management best practice
  • An understanding and experience in the personal injury industry, ideally with knowledge of workers compensation legislation would be highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels
