Job Description

A role is available for a 004 Ranger in Central Queensland to work with the Ghungalu people to manage their spiritual lands. The primary responsibilities include managing and presenting natural wonders and cultural treasures in the Duaringa work unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan for and deliver the Blackdown Tableland Operational Plan and the Duaringa annual work plan.
  • Operate and maintain plant and equipment; control pest plants and animals; undertake planned burning and wildfire suppression; maintain park infrastructure.
  • Manage small projects; undertake compliance and perform natural and cultural resource management duties.
  • Provide on-ground supervision to field-based staff and work collaboratively with others.
  • Adapt to on-the-ground service requirements to ensure high-quality park management services.

Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team, as a supervisor, and independently. Formal qualifications in Conservation and Land Management are highly regarded, although no mandatory qualifications are required.
