The Bruce Highway Targeted Safety Program is a significant initiative aimed at reducing crash severity and frequency. The Australian and Queensland governments have jointly committed to this program, marking a major investment in the highway.

Key measures include wide centre line treatments, audio tactile line marking, intersection upgrades, rest areas, pavement strengthening, overtaking lanes, and upgrades to narrow structures. These improvements will be guided by the Bruce Highway Advisory Council and both levels of government.

The role of Environmental Officer involves providing guidance and expertise to enable project teams to meet environmental management commitments. You will manage various environmental issues associated with the Transport and Road Investment Program, including noise, air quality, flora, fauna, soil, and water management.

  • As lead environmental representative, you will provide advice on environmental assessment and management requirements for various projects.
  • You will manage external consultants and specialists as required, leading the project's environmental assessment.
  • A key aspect of this role is fostering effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and agencies concerned with environment issues.
  • You will also lead audits of environmental compliance associated with QTRIP projects.
Key Responsibilities:
