Lead Mechanical Engineer - Dams and Water Infrastructure

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of skilled engineers who design, develop and deliver dams engineering services for water storage projects in Australia and globally.

Job Description:

We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer with expertise in the mechanical engineering aspects of water storage dams to lead our dams team. As a technical leader, you will be responsible for delivering innovative solutions and high-quality projects for clients, as well as mentoring and developing a strong team to sustain long-term success.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership in the design of gates, regulating structures, outlet works, valves, fish screens and other mechanical aspects of water storage dam infrastructure
  • Lead and oversee delivery of quality technical solutions and successful project outcomes that satisfy clients' needs
  • Mentor and work closely with the rest of the team to develop sustainable capability in our Australia-based team and globally
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, and experience in the mechanical engineering aspects of water storage dams
  • Experience at all project phases including project identification, feasibility studies, conceptual design, reference design, and detailed design
  • A minimum of 15 years' experience in a consulting environment, specifically in the design and specification of gates, hoists, outlet works, trash racks and screens, fishways, pipe work, valves and other mechanical equipment associated with dams
  • Experience working in multi-disciplined teams, including geologists, structural engineers, hydraulic engineers, dams engineers, and electrical and civil engineers
