About This Role

This is a highly rewarding career opportunity for an individual who is passionate about working with young people with disabilities. As a Case Support Officer, you will be responsible for providing advice and support to staff across the region in identifying and responding to the unique needs of young people with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist and advise staff in managing dual roles of monitoring young offenders' compliance with court orders and accessing funding for intervention/supports aimed at responding to disability-specific considerations.
  • Identify and respond to young people with disabilities engaged with or at risk of entering the youth justice system.
  • Deliver best practice statutory casework responsive to disability considerations.
  • Establish access to appropriate services or referral pathways and services available to young people.

Requirements

  • Work with minimal supervision using knowledge, assessment, and intervention skills to deliver integrated and culturally appropriate services.
  • Engage with families, community organisations, and other key stakeholders in accordance with legislative, policy, and procedural requirements.
  • Participate in training and professional development activities to develop, maintain, and enhance knowledge and competencies.
  • Contribute to a departmental culture ensuring sensitive and effective communication with people from other cultures.

Additional Requirements

  • Active participation in training and professional development activities.
  • Maintenance of case records, preparation of reports, performance reporting, and data entry to ensure accountability.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Knowledge and skills in working with young people with disabilities.
  • Experience in statutory casework and best practice principles.
