Policy and Advocacy Officer: Shaping Water Policy and Advocating for Aboriginal Rights

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our Strategy & Advocacy team as a Policy and Advocacy Officer. This role involves undertaking research, developing water policy positions, and strategies to advocate for the rights and interests of Aboriginal Traditional Owners and Native Title Holders.

This is a key opportunity to play a vital role in helping to advocate NLC positions on a broad range of issues affecting Aboriginal people. The successful candidate will be part of a dedicated and collaborative team that supports their professional development and offers competitive remuneration, work-life balance, and a unique opportunity to support our Aboriginal communities in the NLC Region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate water policy and its effectiveness
  • Develop evidence-based research and strategies
  • Advocate for change with Territory and Federal Government entities
Requirements:
  • Bachelor qualifications in Environmental Science, Law, Economics, Social Sciences or relevant equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of four years' experience in policy analysis, research and development
  • Solid research skills and sound computer literacy
