Salary and Benefits

The role offers a salary at SCHADS Level 5–7 (dependent on experience) plus an additional 15% Superannuation. Additional benefits include up to $30,000 in salary packaging, Remote Area Allowance, and relocation assistance.

Job Purpose

You will provide culturally appropriate legal advice and representation to Aboriginal victim-survivors of domestic, family, and sexual violence. This is a challenging yet rewarding career opportunity that empowers Aboriginal communities.

Key responsibilities include representing clients in Domestic Violence Orders and Victims of Crime Compensation matters, working closely with Client Service Officers to deliver wrap-around support, building strong relationships with communities and stakeholders, and travelling to remote communities for outreach and education.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Eligibility for an NT legal practising certificate (restricted/unrestricted)
  • At least 1 year post-admission experience (desirable)
  • Understanding of trauma-informed practice and DFSV issues
  • Strong communication skills and flexibility to travel

Additional requirements include holding a C Class Driver's Licence, Working with Children Clearance, and a clear Criminal History Check. Aboriginal language skills are highly valued (allowance available).
