We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Aboriginal Engagement Advisor to join our team in Darwin. As an advisor, you will play a vital role in helping First Nations survivors navigate the legal system and access services.
Job Description:
- Provide direct support to First Nations survivors as they navigate legal pathways to redress.
- Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to support survivors through the process.
- Participate in projects and community education activities to achieve systemic reforms for First Nations people.
Requirements:
- An Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person who identifies and is recognised as such within their community.
- A current driver's license and willingness to travel to remote communities.
- A National Police Records Check and a Working with Children Check will be completed.
Benefits:
- A competitive salary commensurate with the not-for-profit sector, with salary packaging to achieve a tax-effective total package.
- Five weeks annual leave for Darwin staff; shutdown between Christmas and New Year without deduction from leave.
- 12.5% superannuation (0.5% above the Superannuation Guarantee Charge).
- Annual bonuses: 4% of base salary after 1 year; 8% per year thereafter.
- Training and development opportunities and an Employee Assistance Program.
