Job Description

Purchasing and procurement officers are responsible for managing end-to-end procurement, sourcing, negotiating and maintaining supplier relationships to ensure production teams have the right materials on time at the right quality and price.

The role requires building and maintaining strong supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, pricing and delivery terms, collaborating with engineering, quality, production and finance teams, ensuring compliance with company policies, ethical sourcing and relevant regulations, monitoring supplier performance, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions, and maintaining accurate purchasing data in the ERP system and reporting on supplier performance, lead times and cost-saving initiatives.

  • Procure raw materials components fittings appliances and finished goods in line with production schedules.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to support quality reliability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Negotiate contracts pricing and delivery terms to meet commercial objectives.
  • Collaborate with engineering quality production and finance teams to ensure supplier performance meets technical and operational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies ethical sourcing and relevant regulations.
  • Monitor supplier performance identify risks and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing data in the ERP system and report on supplier performance lead times and cost-saving initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in supply chain business engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years' experience in purchasing procurement or supply chain ideally in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing and procurement best practices.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems preferably Acumatica and Smartsheet.
  • Excellent negotiation problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and raw material requirements.
  • Experience with both local and international suppliers.
  • Detail-oriented organised and committed to continuous improvement.
