We are Woolworths Group, a leading retail group in Australia, and we are excited to offer a unique opportunity for a State Safety, Health and Wellbeing Manager to join our team.

This role will play a pivotal part in the delivery of our progressive SHW strategy, focusing on care, purposeful education, coaching, implementing and embedding best practice processes to mitigate risks to team, customers and other stakeholders in store.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and coach the State Safety, Health and Wellbeing Partners to deliver support in and above store.
  2. Investigate incidents, collaborate with regulators, embed improvements, update processes and take a proactive approach to mitigate risks in stores.
  3. Create and build strong trusting relationships across the store network.
  4. Lead weekly and monthly reporting and updates for internal stakeholders to drive improved performance across the State.
  5. Lead a proactive approach to identify risks and embed risk reduction strategies where appropriate.
  6. Collaborate across the State's store network to deliver a consistent national safety, health and wellbeing plan.
  7. Accurately monitor internal and external trends and report on safety, health and wellbeing performance, proactively identifying opportunities to improve risk reduction strategies.

Requirements:

  1. Degree qualified in OHS, Science, Health or equivalent experience.
  2. A minimum of 5 years in a leadership role with proven safety leadership experience, FMCG industry desirable.
  3. Experience leading and building connected teams with a collective drive for results.
  4. Comprehensive understanding of safety health and wellbeing related legislation, standards and codes.
  5. Excellent leadership skills and ability to drive cultural change and development.
  6. Strong logical, analytical and problem solving abilities.
  7. The ability to navigate an ever-changing environment and pivot as required.
  8. A strong growth mindset with a desire to collaborate across teams.
