About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed structural designs for medium and high-rise buildings, ensuring compliance with relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Undertake components of design such as steel, precast concrete, post-tensioned concrete, masonry, and timber, utilizing industry-standard software and tools.
  • Plan and coordinate design packaging and design interfaces, ensuring seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Produce high-quality designs and design documentation, including technical reports and specifications.
  • Manage the verification of the design in accordance with the quality system, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
  • Mentor junior engineers and supervise designers and drafters, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional growth and development.

About You

  • A passion for structural engineering and a strong understanding of building codes and regulations.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in structural design, preferably in a local consultancy environment.
  • Experience in structural design components, including steel, concrete, and timber.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Initiative and a strong work ethic, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, preferably in a relevant field such as civil engineering or structural engineering.
