Shipbuilding Expert

Eptec is a leading provider of specialist maintenance services to the Defence and Infrastructure industries, with over 20 years of experience delivering Asset Life Extension solutions across Australia.

To be successful in this role you will need to be a qualified tradesperson with at least 2-4 years' experience as a Shipwright, responsible for preparing and welding ship parts which involves erection, alignment, and securing of ship sections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Study plans and specifications, and prepare templates and scale plans for fabrication and cutting of hull sections
  • Weld centre bulkheads, frames, and brackets at portside and starboard side
  • Weld longitudinal central bulkheads and rope reels
  • Perform welding on carbon steel pipes, stainless steel plates, steam, and high-pressure pipes
  • Assemble shells of boats and erect hull sections
  • May create moulds and fabricate vessels using materials such as aluminium, wood, glass, reinforced plastics, carbon fibre, Kevlar, fibreglass, and concrete

We are looking for someone with a strong safety mindset, holding a Nationally Accredited OHS Card (White/Blue Card), and demonstrating minimum 3 years' experience.
