Job Description

The role of a Hull Group Technical Specialist is crucial to the success of our technical area.

We are seeking a specialist to support the design and analysis of hull and external structures in relation to welding, protective coatings, insulation, and pressure equipment.

Responsibilities
  1. Verification of technical compliance in an assurance role of sub assembly, assembly, unit, and block fabrication
  2. Providing specialist advice during implementation and production testing
  3. Contributing to the design change approval process
  4. Establishing strategies to review specifications, plans, procedures, and design documents in relation to shipbuilding activities
  5. Undertaking specialist reviews of engineering reports
  6. Providing assurance services on hull and external systems requirements during construction and testing

Team Overview

The Waterfront and Continuous Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment (W&CNSS) Division coordinates the uplift of the sovereign industrial base and manages Defence's presence in principal shipyards.
