Job Title: Mine Accounting Specialist

Overview

We are seeking an experienced management accountant to join our team and contribute to the financial success of a mine site.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing monthly management accounts and reports, stewardship of the general ledger, and utilising business intelligence systems to prepare insightful reporting and understand business performance.

This includes completing month-end processes, annual budgeting and mid-year forecasts, using enterprise resource planning systems, and generating reporting and insights through business intelligence tools.

The role will also assist auditors with providing information.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete all management accounting and financial reporting, including monthly mine site reporting and any ad-hoc reporting.
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support audit requirements for multiple mines during hard close, half and full year audit processes, and joint venture accounting and reporting.
  • Stewardship of the general ledger for company codes, ensuring correct allocation of expenses.
  • Develop expertise in ERP systems and BI software.
  • Involvement in testing of system updates.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Commerce / Accounting / Business or related field.
  • CPA or CA membership.
  • 3+ years management accounting experience and mine accounting experience (Desirable).
  • Systems experience (TM1 Planning Analytics, Pulse are desirable).
