Director Employment Law

This is a senior leadership role responsible for leading the employment law function across the APAC region.

  • About the Role:
  • The Director will provide strategic advice on employment law matters to senior HR leaders and business stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement employment law policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Manage a team of lawyers and paralegals to provide day-to-day support on employment law matters.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with employment law, including litigation and regulatory issues.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including senior HR leaders, business leaders, and external counsel.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as primary point of contact for all employment law matters in the APAC region.
  • Advise HR leaders and business stakeholders on employment law matters, including complex forward-looking strategic issues and day-to-day employee relations.
  • Proactively address employment law issues and policies, staying up to date on the law and advising the company accordingly.
  • Manage employment litigation, respond to DOL investigations, and administrative complaints.
  • Requirements:
  • Qualified lawyer admitted to a regional bar with specialized experience in employment law.
  • Approx 7+ years experience in an in-house role or reputable law firm, with experience counseling human resources professionals at all levels on full range of employment law issues.
  • Experience defending employers in court litigation, government agency investigations, mediations/arbitrations, and settlement negotiations.
