Job Title: Employment Lawyer

The role of Employment Lawyer is a newly created position within our organisation. As an integral member of our legal team, you will be responsible for providing expert employment law advice and support to our People and Safety team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising on employment contracts, including restraints of trade, entitlements, and confidentiality obligations
  • Representing the company in employment matters before relevant tribunals and courts
  • Providing guidance on complex workplace investigations, restructuring, redundancies, disciplinary actions, and employment terminations
  • Ensuring compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations
  • Delivering training on employment and WHS compliance
  • Drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, including equipment hire, IT, marketing, and supplier agreements

About You

  • You will have a minimum of 5 years' experience as an employment lawyer with a reputable law firm or in-house experience
  • Desirable: experience in work health and safety law
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling effective engagement and influence across all organisational levels
  • Commercial awareness and a practical, pragmatic approach to problem-solving
