
Genomics Coordinator

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled coordinator to join our team in the School of Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Health. The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, leadership, and interests.
The Queensland Node Coordinator will establish a jurisdictional node to support the development of a National Roadmap for implementation of Pharmacogenomics for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Additionally, the coordinator will ensure key deliverables, including:
- Establishing local Indigenous governance structures
- Consultation, engagement, and involvement of partners and stakeholders
- Participation in the National Network activities
- Developing and coordinating workforce development initiatives with stakeholders
- Supporting the development of local and national Indigenous genomic policies
This position will be based in Brisbane, however, flexible working arrangements can be negotiated. Intra-state and interstate travel will be required.
Key Responsibilities:- Project management experience and skills, including financial/budget management
- Stakeholder engagement experience and expertise; particularly in relation to working with and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders and their interests
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills, and experience working with and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander interests and stakeholders
- Strong strategic, operational and organisational management skills, including demonstrated ability to set goals, identify priorities and meet deadlines
- Education training and/or experience equivalent to a degree with at least four years subsequent relevant experience in an area such as business administration, project management, bio-medical science, public or population health, health, research, policy, and/or Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander studies
- Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, peoples, families, communities, service providers and organisations
- Demonstrated experience in conducting or supporting research involving Aboriginal and/or Torres people, peoples and communities
