Queensland Co-ordinator, Indigenous Genomics Network
About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as a Queensland Co-ordinator, Indigenous Genomics Network. This is an identified position and we encourage applicants of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent to apply.
Key Responsibilities- Establish a jurisdictional node to support development of a National Roadmap for implementation of Pharmacogenomics for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Ensure key deliverables, including: the establishment of local Indigenous governance structures; consultation, engagement, and involvement of partners and stakeholders; participation in the network activities; developing and co-ordinating workforce development initiatives with stakeholders; and supporting the development of local and national Indigenous genomic policies.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Education training and/or experience equivalent to a degree with at least four years subsequent relevant experience in areas such as business administration, project management, bio-medical science, public or population health, health research, policy, and/or Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander studies.
- Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, families, communities, service providers and organisations.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting or supporting research involving Aboriginal and/or Torres people, peoples and communities.
- Project management skills, including financial/budget management.
- Stakeholder engagement expertise, particularly in relation to working with and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders and their interests.
