Job DescriptionThe Student Engagement Officer role forms part of the Box Hill Institute AMEP team and serves as the first point of contact for new and existing AMEP clients/prospective students. Within this role, you will support the recruitment and retention of students using various communication channels, including face-to-face interactions and social media.
Your primary responsibility will be to provide support to students from non-English speaking backgrounds, ensuring they receive relevant and reliable information to achieve their future vocational, educational, and settlement goals. You will deliver a high level of customer service, establishing and maintaining a positive and welcoming work and student environment on site.
You will collaborate with the customer service team and teaching staff to implement strategies that actively engage students in their current AMEP course. This includes monitoring class attendance, checking eligibility, assisting with registration processes, scheduling assessments, and handling various administration duties.
In addition, you will provide translation/interpreting support for Box Hill Institute departments as required and have the opportunity to engage with the CALD community groups, providing leadership groups with relevant trends and suggestions applicable to that particular cohort.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Demonstrated experience within a similar role
- Experience in AMEP, SEE, or any other English Language Tuition program (highly desirable)
- Fluency in a language other than English (highly desirable)
- High-level customer service experience; confident and courteous when dealing with people at all levels
- Demonstrated experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
- Ability to listen and deliver on clients/customer needs and actively seek to deliver high-quality outcomes
- Experience in working collaboratively as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and demonstrated ability to learn new systems/applications quickly

The estimated annual salary for this role is $59,597.74, plus superannuation, based on the location and industry standards.
