Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Family Violence Practitioner to join our team in Melbourne. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping women from migrant and refugee backgrounds who are experiencing family violence.

The successful candidate will work alongside victim survivors of family violence, providing individual case management and recovery support as well as delivering group-based programs based on identified need and in line with the MARAM Framework.

This role also supports work with men through the Motivation for Change (MFC) Program and associated services, delivering MFC case management and partner contact support services as applicable.


About the Role

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and think critically to identify solutions to complex problems.

You will be working with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders, including women, children and families from migrant and refugee backgrounds.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work effectively in a team environment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual case management and recovery support to client
  • Deliver group-based programs based on identified need and in line with the MARAM Framework
  • Support work with men through the Motivation for Change (MFC) Program and associated services
  • Maintain accurate records and reports
  • Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent qualification
  • Ability to fluently speak in Vietnamese
  • Demonstrated experience within the specialist family violence sector or working with those who have been impacted by domestic, family and sexual violence
  • Understanding of the specialist family violence sector in Victoria
  • Demonstrated understanding of Multi Agency Risk Assessment (MARAM) Framework training and its application in the context of Crisis Services or the willingness to undergo training at employment start
