Occupational Rehabilitation Specialist

The role of Occupational Rehabilitation Specialist is a key position in the rehabilitation sector, requiring a high level of skill and motivation.

This diverse opportunity offers flexibility and autonomy, allowing professionals to manage their own workload while working closely with a team of healthcare experts.

The successful candidate will have a professional background in Psychology or Rehabilitation Counselling and experience working in the occupational rehabilitation sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Case management for manageable caseloads with support from assistants;
  • Applying clinical knowledge to improve return-to-work outcomes;
  • Developing injury prevention and workplace education programs for employers and employees;
  • Collaborating with injured workers, employers, medical and allied health professionals;
  • Assisting clients to achieve return-to-health and return-to-work outcomes through various assessments and interventions;
  • Completing initial, workplace, and vocational assessments to review diagnosis, support treatment plans, address psychosocial barriers, and identify suitable employment opportunities;

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in occupational rehabilitation is highly regarded;
  • Excellent communication skills for building relationships with clients and stakeholders;
  • Compassion, kindness, and empathy are essential qualities;
  • Well-developed time management skills and a current valid driver's license with comprehensive insurance;
  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Health Sciences, or Rehabilitation Counselling;
  • General or provisional registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist or eligibility for associate or full membership with ASORC;
