About the Role

The Senior Histology Team Lead will oversee the specimen receipt and processing team, supporting Scientists and Technicians in their daily tasks, reviewing procedures, and driving efficiency and workflow improvements. This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious professional to make their mark in a large, premier Anatomical Pathology practice experiencing growth and transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the histology team in a fast-paced environment, ensuring seamless specimen processing and delivery.
  • Collaborate with Scientists and Technicians to review procedures and implement quality control measures.
  • Develop and maintain efficient workflows, reducing delays and improving overall productivity.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging staff to share ideas and suggestions.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, including WH&S, NATA, and quality management systems.

About You

To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the essential requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Applied Science (Med Lab Science) or similar relevant qualification.
  • Extensive histological cut-up knowledge and experience.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience, preferably in a laboratory setting.
  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in all aspects of routine Histology.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Experience working with quality management systems and regulatory requirements.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum + Super
