About the role:

The Chief Technology Risk Strategist will play a key part in driving impactful projects within our Tech Readiness team. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating operational risks, controls, and actions throughout multiple release phases, focusing on enhancing and testing technology controls to ensure project success.

Main responsibilities:

  • Facilitate sessions to understand the project's impact on operational risks and address them through appropriate safeguards.
  • Collaborate with teams across enterprise risk, securities and payments risk, and technology risk to manage risks in alignment with organisational frameworks.
  • Provide guidance on identifying, documenting, and evaluating controls, including those aligned with the broader technology control framework and team-specific requirements.
  • Oversee the evaluation of key technology controls for the system replacement initiative, including planning and reporting on findings.
  • Drive the process for identifying, documenting, and assessing technology-related risks and issues associated with control gaps and weaknesses.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in managing technology risks for essential operational applications, including those based in cloud environments.
  • Advanced qualifications in risk management.
  • A background in Line 1 and Line 2 risk management, auditing, or a related discipline within a regulated technology setting.
  • Experience or familiarity with testing and assessing controls.
  • A solid understanding of frameworks that govern technology risks and controls.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools, including daily stand-ups, JIRA, Confluence, and workflow management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven experience collaborating with vendors and consultants across onshore and offshore locations.
  • An in-depth knowledge of ITIL and COBIT frameworks.
