
Child Development Specialist

We are seeking a qualified play therapist to join our multidisciplinary team.
- Provide individual and family-based play therapy and counselling to support the emotional, behavioural and mental health needs of children and young people.
- Build strong relationships with Parents and Carers, developing individualised, empathic and connected relationships.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop individualised treatment plans and goals.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver therapeutic interventions to children, young people and families in a clinical setting.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans based on assessment findings.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care.
- Engage with parents and carers to enhance their understanding and involvement in the therapeutic process.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications and registration as a Mental Health Social Worker, Psychologist or other qualification that allows for Medicare Rebates.
- Membership with the relevant professional association.
- Demonstrated experience in providing therapeutic interventions to children, young people and families.
- Strong knowledge of child development, neurodiversity (including Autism, ADHD and PDA), play therapy and family systems.
